What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer when you visit a website. Desenio uses this information for statistical purposes, to keep track of actions performed by visitors on our website, and to improve and personalise the user’s experience of the website. There are two types of cookies – persistent and session cookies.

1. Persistent cookies are stored on the user’s computer for a certain period of time.
2. A session cookie is only stored on a user’s computer while the user is navigating the website. As soon as the web browser is closed, session cookies are deleted.

How are cookies used?

Desenio uses cookies to improve and personalise the website for our visitors. Examples of functions for which cookies are used include: handling of purchases, ‘My Account’ logins, and the shopping cart. Cookies also help to store certain information in order to personalise advertisements and special offers so that you are afforded a more relevant website experience.

We use Google Analytics and it may associate the visitation information that it collects with Google information from accounts of signed-in users (on Google) who have consented to this association for the purpose of ads personalisation. This Google information may include end user location, search history, YouTube history and data from sites that partner with Google – and is used to provide us with aggregated and anonymised insights about users' cross device behaviours. When using our site and accepting our tracking and cookie handling you acknowledge such association. You can access and/or delete such information via Google's My Activity.

Persistent cookies are used to, for example, store any personal user settings on desenio.co.uk so that you do not have to repeat the process every time you visit our website. Session cookies are used to keep statistics pertaining to the use of the website.

How do I delete cookies?

If you do not want cookies to be used, you can disable them from your web browser’s Settings tab (visit your browser’s Help page for more information). You can also delete cookies in your web browser which have been stored from previously visited websites.

Desenio’s e-commerce platform set cookies in order for basic functionality of the site to work- check out, shopping cart etc.
