Introducing Curated Calm
Curated Calm is all about using form, function and a minimal aesthetic to create a soothing and timeless home style. The focus is on neutral shades, allowing the figures within the art to take shape, and with a more artistic feel to the collection, it’s a subtle yet sophisticated look. With compositions spanning photography, painting and typography design, there’s a mature and mellow expression at the heart of Curated Calm.
Elegant places to gather
With a standout abstract pair, elegant nature-inspired paintings and pensive figurative work, this collection lends itself to sophisticated neutral spaces where people gather such as kitchens or living rooms.
“Curated Calm distils the essence of quiet luxury. The artworks have a softness that invites pause, while chrome accents or sculptural steel details introduce a contemporary tension. It’s a modern minimalism that doesn’t feel cold, but elevated and human.” says Annica Wallin, Executive Creative Director at Desenio.
See how The Good News Café came to life
Each collection Desenio launches is carefully curated by a team of artists, designers and photographers in the Stockholm Atelier.
Did you know that artists often paint a base colour over the whole canvas as a starting point? When The Good News Café was painted, the artist choose to paint the whole canvas in a warm orange base colour. There are two reasons why: to make sure that any gaps were not too white, creating contrast which the artist didn’t want, and so that the layers of paint that were added later take on the warm brown tone.
