Art for a Cause Magazine about New York Event

There’s nothing we love more than bringing people together over art, and that is exactly what happened at our pop-up gallery for Art for a Cause in New York City in May 29-31. With a painting workshop, and the chance to see the artworks that make up the unique Art for a Cause collection, the event inspired guests to strike up friendships, get in touch with their own creative sides and admire beautiful art. With painting sessions led by therapists from The Art Therapy Project, participants harnessed some of that inspiration and discovered some of the meditative qualities of creating art for themselves.

The Art for a Cause collection features art from over thirty artists from around the world. A portion of each sale goes towards our non-profit partner, The Art Therapy Project, and both the event and the collection are designed to highlight awareness of mental health and art therapy as a means to overcome challenges.

Our pop-up gallery gave people the chance to see the Art for a Cause prints and canvases in real life, giving a small taste of Desenio’s eclectic collection of art. The event also provided participants with the option to get to know The Art Therapy Project a little more, and to see the value of the work they do in the community with free group art therapy in safe spaces for people in need of mental health support.

With a range of guests united by their love of art, the event also inspired meaningful conversation about the healing power of creative practice. The event was co-hosted by Rachel Martino, who spoke on the topic of creativity and how it has helped her to have a positive impact on her well-being and take on self-care. We thank everybody who came to visit our Pop-up art gallery in New York and discovered a curated selection of art, contributed to the amazing discussions about creativity and took part in free painting sessions.
